Description
The M437R module (such as M441R) is a low-cost, CAN Bus interface board that provides access to a wide range of CAN applications for PC/104 systems.
The module is based on the Intel CAN controller 82527.
The 82527 controller is a highly integrated device that performs all serial communication functions such as transmission and reception of messages, message filtering on extended message frames, transmit search and interrupt search with minimal interaction from the CPU.
The M437R module supports the standard message frames in CAN Specification 2.0 Part A and also the standard and extended message frames in CAN Specification 2.0 Part B.
The 82527 provides storage for 15 message objects of
8-byte data lenght. Each message object can be configured as either transmit or receive except for the last message object. The last message object is a receive-only buffer with a special mask design.
The 82527 controller implements a global masking feature for both standard and extended message filtering, that allows the user to mask any identifier bits of the incoming message.
The M437R module also integrates 4 serial ports, two RS232 Full Modem and two configurable as RS232 or RS485.
